Case Manager/ Advocate

Job Description

 

Job Summary: The O.U.R House Case Manager/Advocate (CMA) will provide a consistent presence onsite during business hours and be responsible for attending to the program, and victim needs as well as providing support to the local Multidisciplinary Team.

 

This position is the supportive contact with families from case initiation through possible adjudication, involving issues of child sexual and physical abuse. It serves as the front-line advocate for child victims and non-offending family members/caregivers. This position is responsible for providing information to families and assisting with finding support services, including follow-up care.

 

Additional case management and administrative duties apply.

 

Provide day-to-day clerical support and reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

 

Advocate & Case Manager Overview

 

·        Initiates contact with victims and families during the investigative process – remains with family as needed through their time at the facility.

·        Gives caregivers  program intake and appropriate binder information and assist as needed.

·        Updates and maintain caregiver binders with the Executive Director.

·        Contact caregivers, if given permission, within 72 hours after the initial interview.

·        Provides crisis management and ongoing support as needed both in-person and by phone.

·        Manages intakes from DCF via an online tracking system and calendar.

·        Manages team calendar and appointments.

·        Participates in Domestic Violence Task Force Meetings

·        Receive and screen telephone calls and delegate to the appropriate person.

·        Identifies community resources and make appropriate referrals for services.

·        Answer questions about issues related to child sexual abuse.

·        Meet with children and non-offenders family members to provide information on personal safety.

·        Serves as a liaison with the community and investigative agencies to help them tailor their investigation to the needs of the families.

·        Participates in case review meetings and helps to build the agenda.

·        Maintains supplies, including but not limited to brochures, refreshments, and resources available.

·         

 

Administrative Overview

 

·        Quarterly stats completed and emailed to the Executive Director by the 10th of January, April, July, and October.

·        Obtain quarterly stats from the State's Attorney's Office and input them into the Prosecution Tracking Sheet.

·        VOCA Stats completed and emailed to the Executive Director quarterly.

·        Enters initial intake into NCATRAK and adds additional information as cases progress through case closure.

·        Enters mental health therapy information into NCATRAK.

·        Maintains appropriate statistics for grant reporting and funding opportunities.

·        Attends required training, 8 hours per year minimum of Child Abuse training. Various NCA training requirements which change annually.

·        Burn discs of interviews promptly for the team. Maintain disc drive and clears out the I-Record system.

·        Maintain I-Record system.

·        Prepare a Multidisciplinary Team empanelment roster each year.

·        Assist in running monthly MDT as needed.

·        Help to order supplies/let the Executive Director know of needs for office and clients.

·        Assist as needed with social media and website.

·        Send thank you notes to donors.

·        Seek out grants and assist with fundraising.

 

Center Overview

 

·        Assist with keeping the center clean and tidy. Assist with trash, recycling, cleaning, salting, shoveling, emptying the dehumidifier in the          basement, etc. Duties are seasonal.

·        Help the Executive Director care for the therapy bunny, Ziggy. Cage cleaning, feeding, treat delivery, and pets. 

·        Assist with updating the center for seasonal change, flower watering, decorations, etc.

·        Answer phones, greet foot traffic, and speak with visitors.

 

Qualifications/Job Requirements

 

·        Associate's degree or equivalent and two years’ experience working in an office setting.

·        Prior work experience in child welfare, human services, or a related field.

·        Ability to adjust and be flexible with schedule.

·        Successfully pass fingerprint criminal, and child abuse registry checks upon hire. Fingerprint cost is reimbursable after hire.

·        Strong computer skills, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Facebook, One Drive

·        Internet and electronics savvy.

·        Adhere to confidentiality policies – Ability to exercise considerable discretion and to work in a highly confidential environment.

·        Must possess the ability to engage children and adults of all ages and developmental abilities and respond to cultural differences present among organizations, populations, and staff.

·        Must be capable of working well collaboratively and engaging a multidisciplinary team.

·        Detail-oriented and able to prioritize issues appropriately and make sound

decisions.

·        Must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills.

 

 

Job Overview

 

·        Part-time, 30 hours per week

·        No health insurance benefits.

·        The pay range is $18-$21 per hour based on experience.

·        2 weeks paid vacation in year one – up to 4 weeks after 6 years of service, with annual rollover.

·        2 weeks earned sick time in year one- up to 180 hours accrued after 6 years of service with annual rollover.

·        Paid time off on State and Federal holidays (15 days)

·        After 1 year, access to Edward Jones Retirement account.

·        Monday – Friday, final schedule flexible and to be discussed with Executive Director.
